Mustang fans have already had their share of fun with the unveiling of the new 3.7-liter 305 horsepower V6 along with its 5.0-liter 412 pony big brother – but now we have some teasers for the 2011 GT500 as well. So I'm reading my monthly issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords and I come accross a small article written about the new Mustang RTR. This new "variant to the S197 called the Mustang RTR" is supposed to offer the perfect blend of style and power. From what I read it seems to be reminesant of a DECH or SALEEN Mustang. Lets investigate.
Upon a quick review of their website (Mustang RTR) I realize that power upgrades include a tune and K&N Airfilter .... wow .... a whopping +9 HP. Are you kidding me? And how much extra is this 9 HP going to cost the consumer, assuming anyone is willing to purchase this piece of junk. I mean the RTR-C with a Carbon Fiber body might look nice but at $135,000.00 ...... Seriously? The SN95 Saleen Wide Body Kit (also carbon fiber) and a heck of a lot nicer than the RTR was priced at $16,000.00 - and it replaced EVERY panel on the car.
