Is it really worth it? I see people spending hundreds on new units and then monthly fees (in the US).

I enjoy my free radio, I can't see paying for it.

Agreed! The new Gt has a 6 pack cd changer and the free radio. Seems like that should be enough.

I don't think its legal in Canada yet. Sirrus and XM are still working out Canadian contracts. However when it is legal you will have to buy the "Canadian Package" the same as Satelite TV. It has mostly Canadian channels instead of the more popular all US Channels. As far as I know ???

You can have Satalite radio in canada, you just need a US address to register it to. My cousin has it and I am quite impressed. He has labout 200 channels of commericial free, uncensored, digital quality music. It costs him about $9.00 a month.

I think its worth it myself. I loved the comedy channels on the long drives.

After my trip down to Miami I said next time I am getting a sat radio - or putting in a unit that reads mp3's. My Cobra doesn't.

I picked up a Sirius sat radio from Xact Communications a few weeks ago.
It is a "plug and play" unit that connects to the home docking station. I just need to get the car one now too.

I'm planning another trip next season - April or May - I'm thinking Phoenix. So I'm defintely going to be wanting this.

My dad has it in his 18 wheeler, its really cool. He bought it and paid for the whole year, I think it wasnt that expensive. No commercials and a shitload of channels that go by Rock, heavy metal, rap, sports, news ETC

good buy IMO

As Mustang Guy already said, you need to sign up for the service.
Pre-pay yearly and you save some money, or month-by-month payments.
And, right now since the only service providers are American, you need a US address to register. There's always the Holiday Inn across the Falls.
