Good shop in the Fraser Valley, BC to do T5 conversion

Just bought a 70 Mach 1 with a stock 3 speed manual trans. Want to upgrade to a T5. Looking for a good shop to do the conversion. Does anyone have any suggestions? I live in the Fraser Valley, BC.

Shop found and change in plans

I have found a shop in the Fraser Valley to do a T5 conversion on my Mach 1. Bob's Driveline Service in Aldergrove, BC. After hearing the price and the waiting time to do it, the plan has changed. I've decided to take on this upgrade myself. The parts are ordered and should be here soon. I can use the money saved on labour to upgrade the brakes to Wilwood 4 wheel disc complete system. Will post updates as I get the parts installed.

Picked up the last of the parts to do the transmission upgrade. Will start work on the car this weekend. That T5z sure is light weight. It will be great to get those RPMs down when flying down the highway. Will post updates as I get this done.

T5z update

Finally found the time to get the T5z swap done. Ran into a few issues along the way. Went with a American Powertrain hydraulic clutch set up. It has a hydraulic release bearing which eliminates the use of a fork and slave cylinder. That leaves plenty of room for headers. Had to have a spacer machined for the bearing. The clutch pedal is very easy to push in now. Next issue was the trans mount. A little modding had to be done to bolt it up to the car. The T5 conversion yoke for the driveshaft wouldn't go into the trans. Ended up using a C4 yoke. The driveshaft had to be shortened 1 inch. The original flywheel was 164 teeth and new one was 157 teeth. Had to get a new starter. Went with a Powermaster mini high torque unit. The stock rear gears were 3.00 and had to be changed. Went with 3.70 gears. The last issue is that the pedals need to have new bushings. Will be installing a roller bearing kit from Scott Drake. i used a McLeod Racing clutch. All the parts installed were new. should be good to go for a long time. Even though there were plenty of challenges with this swap, I'm happy with the result. Next up is installing the Wilwood 4 wheel disc brake system.
