CAI decisions...
So I am having some trouble picking out a cold air intake and hopefully someone will be of some service. it is between steeda and bbk. Also, does it matter what size of tb I decide to throw on a Accufab plenum??

70mm TB
And I would do a BBK CAI |

I have the BBK, looks and sounds sweet (added a pic). With the accufab plenum I would go with a 75mm TB.
Heres a pic of my bay with the BBK Attachment 21419 |
Very nice clean car :)
|
A 70mm will be fine and I have a no preference between the 2 CAI you are deciding between. I went witha 75mm just because I was thinking ahead for boost and it was the same price.
|
Go with a fendermount for sure!...I have a MAC, but BBK is basically the same (my MAC was 50 bucks cheaper)
I would go 75mm TB |
70mm is fine, but for price difference go with the 75mm (future mods)
as for a cold air intake---->BBK :tup |
Wow thanks. but i was not really expecting BBK to come out on top. Steeda kinda has a famous rep but w/e you guys say haha
|
^^^What it all comes down to is looks, becasue all a CAI is good for really is the bling factor. You're not gonna gain any HP. Nothing noticeable anyway.

IMO its a must for any GT Stock set up is way more restrictive than any CAI, not to mention my fendermount MAC sounds great...And yes, they look great too! |

If you can get a good deal on a Roush cai it is a great quality piece.
I loved mine on the old car. It fit the stock tb and accepted up to a 75mm. Tha tube was a kind of flexible composite and didn't absorb engine heat as much as metal. The filter ran into the fenderwell as well. When you buy a CAI....like most things in life....you get what you pay for. Good Luck on whatever you choose. |

If I get the BBK TB/PLENUM combo...78mm...Will that be compatible with my MAC CAI?
|
Yup, should be fine.

Why not going with the JLT Ram air or Cold Air Intake ?
It's 4", in PCV and you can have it painted to match your car color. I had one on my 4.6 and I've one on my 5.4. really worth it ! |

I would have gone JLT if I didn't get a steal of a deal on my TUNABLE INDUCTION by DEMOLET.

You will gain HP not noticeably, but if you have exhaust it will make a difference, it would be like trying to breathe through a straw without a good intake. :wiggle:
I have a WMSRacing intake. It hooks up to the factory rubber and in my opinion is way more restrictive then the BBK. I bought the car with this on. Attachment 21350 |
I went with the Steeda kit....and then got it airbrushed
