Since they were 4.30's it took about 3 adjustments to get them set right. I had to move the ring away from the pinion.

If you listen very carefully you can hear it a bit, but then again over the exhaust and being a vert I get allot of outside noise.

Before that I had 3.73's and they went in perfect no problems at all. From what I have read if you install 4.10's and 3.73's using Ford Racing Gears, you use the same pinion shim 9 times out of 10 you do not need any ajustments. 4.30's are a different animal because of helix angle is alot steeper.

Assuming that you use frpp gears the pinion shim is dictated by the case and should always remain the same provided that the new gears are marked "0" it would only need to be changed if the pinion is marked otherwise

How are the 4.30's to drive in town/highway? or is this vehicle not a city-driven car? I've been lookin at gears for a while now and it's on my list of things to do for sure. I was leaning towards 4.10's since it's a DD. Got some people from ModularDepot to post some pics of their tach/speedo at highway speeds with 4.10's and they were still only around 2800RPM at 70MPH or 125ish KM/H. Seems ok to me.

In what? Engine speed? From what I understood most of these guys were running a stock trans. Here's a link to the thread. First guy said he's got the same tranny I do (stock) and was at 2800 RPM at 75 MPH which is close to 120 KM/H and that was with 4.10's.
