Leaking valve seals ?

Hey guys my stang is burning a fair amount of oil about a liter every month. It only really burns oil after idle at a stop light then accelerate which is leading me to believe its the valve seals. I got some quotes to get my valve seals done around $1400. I plan on doing a full rebuild and top end kit for my car next winter so I was going to try and hold off from doing the valve seals. My question is can I do anything to try and eliminate the smoking for this summer maybe change to a lighter oil. I currently run 10w30 royal purple and I was planning on switching to a 5w30 this summer hoping that may help. I was also going to try a stop smoke additive and suggestion?

I've seen treatments and additives that are supposed to help cure it but I've never used them so I don't know if they work or not.

Ya when I put my stang back on the road next month I am gonna try and adding a stop leak to my oil and switch to a lighter oil in the 5w30 and hope it atleast reduced the smoke.

lucas engine oil treatment works pretty well. but to slow the oil burning, a thicker oil is required. personally i would not do it but i have friends that have used 15w40 in their fox bodies to stop alot of the smoking.
