porting pi heads
re
Do you guys think that i can hit high 12's in a 96 gt coupe with 4;10 gears , longtube headers , every bolt-on , alumium driveshaft , pi heads with only the ports for intake and exhaust smoothed out, comp stage 2 cams and valve springs, fiberglass hood, slicks and a tune on the dyno with my sct tuner......will that be enough to get me there?
as soon as you get there you will want more.regaurdless who you get to do the heads get them done.it is money well spent.if you are gonna have it all apart anyways it makes no sense to me not to do them .my 2 cents.

intake port should NOT be smooth in NA application.
be very careful with a stage2 cam. you have an NPI bottom end, piston dish is different from PI, PTV is more likely to happen causing you to retard the cams negating the full potential of the grind.
BTW your hood is already fiberglass (or close to it)
X's 2.
Leave the intake ports alone!!
I already stated to you that 12's can be achieved for what you have planned, even without porting, but suspension does play a good roll in doing so.... along with vehicle weight, tire, track conditions, and driver mod!!!
You just need to figure out a plan, and stick with it, then once all is done, you can learn how your car reacts with the new mods, and what i mean by that is not to change your combo, or set up every few outings, take the time to see what your car likes, and go from there.
You will see on how much experience/pratice will do without touching a thing.

re
Ya i am going to stick with my plan, if i am going to spend big bucks like 1000 dollars on porting then i might aswell buy trickflow heads that give the 2v 4.6 like 80-100hp more and they are complete and done..... so that being said i am just going to smooth out the exhaust ports and get the longtubes etc....i think that is the smarts thing to do , and if down the line i want more power then i will be calling up american muscle for a set of trickflow heads...lol
