Time 4 EXHAUST
 

So now that I have a few bolt-ons, its time 4 exhaust. im planning long tubes with h-pipe, but what kind should i go for?? Like everyone else I want something that sounds good, looks good, and provides a good HP bump.

Also, how much of a difference do long tube make over shorty headers with a slightly longer primary tubing
(ie: BBK shorty headers vs. Hooker long tube)

I have MAC LT Headers, they are great and sounds AWESOME!

But after having the MAC other then they are cheaper...Go with BBK LT's they are a better build, they offer a catted mid section were the MAC does not!
When it comes time for lets say e-test....you might be in need of a catted mid pipe, just keep that in mind.

The long tubes have a better flow rating obviously over the shorties. Its just the long tubes are a bigger pain in the butt for installing.

I would also go with a O/R H-pipe if your going off road....there is also the x-pipe but thats your decision!

Anyone heard anything about flowtech? they have a set of long tubes that are well priced, but i dont really know about them. any answers??

A lot of guys use flowtech down south.They also allow you to remove your trans without needing to remove your headers when it comes time to replace your clutch.Which is a major down fall for the modular crowd,and 98.9% all long tube headers need to be removed to drop the trans.
The only thing that most commented on was the slip fit on the driverside,they stated that who ever uses any slip fit type header,to make sure you put some rtv gasket maker on the slip fit,and let it sit,and cure,or you will get a slight exhaust leak.

BBK does sound like a decent option, but now the issue of H-pipe and X-pipe. I heard H sound a lot better and thats what i have on my car now, but X-pipe give you some more power? my H-pipe is also cat-less so idk.. just rambling now...

H pipe gives more torque,and the X pipe gives more hp in the higher rpm on the modular cars.
The H pipe gives more of a dee,throaty,angry sound,while the X pipe gives more of a racy,raspy,high rpm sound.
Both sound good with the proper catbacks.
It really boils down to preference really for the minor lose between the two in torque or hp.

Cool. Think I'll go with the BBK then with Bassani cat-back. Love the sound of Bassani

Do you have to remove the trans for LT headers? apparently its much easier with starter off as well? Does anyone know about Pacesetter headers? good price but it looks like the header does have flanges on it?

SLP LM2 OR Magnaflow Magnapacks would be my 2 picks for a catback...
I have the SLP LM 2 system and couldnt be happier
I am now trying to decide on a x pipe...SLP or Magnaflow

I am also going to go with BBK Ceramic Shorty headders as well
Good quality and good price
Just have to make up my mind on my X Pipe
