I just ordered a FRPP CAI from AM and I am getting the SCT X3 tuner with 3 tunes from Bama.... 87 octane(winter) 89 octane ( summer driving) and 91 octane ( for fun once in a while). I have only changed my axle-backs to magnaflows and no other mods yet so we will see how it works out.

how's those magna flows sound? Any drone at 2000 rpm or so?

thanks

mdurand the magnaflows are quiet at idle almost a stock sound but gets considerable load when you step on it.and the 4 inch double rolled tips really fill out the fascia. I have no noticeable drone at 2000 but never really drive in that range if you know what i mean!

I find absolutely zero drone with mine

I am running magnaflows and I didn't think anything was wrong until my son said it was driving him nuts sittin in the back seat of my Mach 1. We were going from Hamilton to Brampton, right around 2000 rpms. I told him to suck it up buttercup.

Which one to use?
Ford has one that I belive requires a calibration kit as well?
K&N has one that I am told does not require any calibration kit.
Does the K&N void factory warranty.
I wonder what to do?

No tune CAI kits are not worth it, the power is in the tune!

After installing FRPP CAI and Ford version of racetune with their pro cal tool, I decided we could do better, so I got an SCT X3 tuner from Bama Performance...comes with 3 custom tunes and updated tunes for as long as I own the car.
Very pleased with the results.

I can also add that the FRPP also somes iwth the Ford Racing axle back dual exhuast system...yes there is some drone, although the longer its on there, it seems to be maturing ? LOL sounds beefier than it did right after install. Ford techs installed so covered by Ford warranties

The shops that I had spoken to didn't think that the tune was very important.
After seeing what you guys think I now know twhat to do-go with the tune kit.
Thanks again

Hi Tim,

I used the JLT kit with SCT Tune from American Muscle & Love it, ask me & I'll show you at the next meeting if you'd like
