lost low end power....

Hey guys I just put some mods in the stang and although I'm impressed with the over all project but I am finding I have lost to much low end power I'm wondering if I can use my tuner to some how lower the power band?

What mods do did you add so we know how to assist? What gear do you have?

What he said. There are mods out there that tend to lower low end torque such as cams, charge motion delete plates, etc. I've heard putting a huge exhaust system on can cause a loss of low end torque due to lack of back pressure but I won't know 100% for sure till the end of may (im installing a huge system lol) Also depending on the mods you installed some really require the car to be re-tuned or dyno-tuned to get the most out of them.

The gear question is a very good one. If you are running stock crap gears either 3:31 or 3:55's they aren't helping. If you throw in a set of 4:10's I guarantee you will feel like you've made up that low end loss. (the gas mileage change really isn't bad I still get 25mpg highway)

theres the mods i made

the charge motion delete plates i figured i would loose some power but added the steeda underdrive pullies hopeing to counter balance this effect I have a large flowmater exhaust on it but saddly im still running the 3:55's hope to put the 4:10's in this summer! Heres a list of what has been done to it so far...

CAI K&N
FlowMaster Exhaust/Hurst short throw shifter/Ford Racing lowering kit/Steeda underdrive pullies/Steeda charge motion delete plates/SCT X3 tuner/up'd tire size to 255/50
there a some other mods but there all cosmetic.

Hum...maybe it is the motion delete..
I would get that K&N out of your car! and swap it for a AMSOil air filter as they don't use oil on there air filters.

Maybe your MAF is starting to get dirty, how long has that K&N been on your car for?

When you start modding, you obviously had HP,and a little torque.Mod engines aren't known for gobs of torque to begin with.My advise is once you start adding hp mods, you must do gears, actually, gears should be the top mod on the list to start with in my opinion.Seeing that you want 4:10's,you are already on the right track!
How about your SCT X3?Has your stang been on the dyno for proper air/fuel?

I was thinking the same thing about the tuner. Who did your tune?
Also, is that a full CAI with bigger maf or just a filter swap?
With the steeda plates (they are supposed to increase low end tq and top end hp), pullies and a CAI with a proper tune to account for it all you should have popped wood the first time out.

I am assuming the flowmaster is an axle back? If so, it should not have hurt hp/tq on your car.

I would say the tune is off with what you are seeing out of those mods.

I'd definitely check your tune to, or even get it dyno tuned which would be your best bet. The intake system on the new stangs is very touchy with CAI's, your tune has to be right on or they can lose you a fair amount of power. From what I've heard the Steeda CAI seems to have some of the best results
