New Ford Racing 62mm TB

1 Attachment(s)
Looks like Ford Racing has released a version of the Cobra Jet throttle body for use on 3V's.

Here are the specs.

M-9926-3V*

Similar to throttle body (M-9926-CJ) on the 2008 Mustang FR500CJ race car
Brand New in Ford Racing Box.
Fits in factory location on 2005-2010 Mustang GT
Twin 62mm bore (stock Mustang GT is twin 55mm)
Precision machined from billet aluminum to ensure consistency
Polished finish with machined Ford Racing logo
Tested to Ford original equipment specifications for cold and hot weather
Fully assembled complete with throttle position sensor and actuator motor, ready to bolt on!
Uses OE gears to prevent gear bind and wear common with other aftermarket throttle bodies
Does not include calibration, CALIBRATION REQUIRED, sold for tuner use

It comes complete with the TPS so that will eliminate a bit of screwing around at install and start up trying to adjust the parameters of the TPS but it does require a tune which isn't a bad thing.

The brutal part though is the price. $550 US

It is definently a sweet looking piece. The last dyno results I've seen on it from a guy with aftermarket heads, cams, intake, and exhaust, was 4-5 hp. Guys with a blower or turbo should get quite a bit more out of it, especially if they are making 500+hp. My favorite part is that it uses the stock gears so it should be more reliable than some other aftermarket ones like bbk & gms which some people have had problems with.

When I eventually get my blower, unless something better comes our in the mean time, this is the tb I plan on going with.

Nice looking piece, but for the hp gains per dollar, not really worth the cash IMHO. No offense intended.....

That is sweet looking!Hope it's worth every penny !!

I agree with you to a degree.
On a N/A car it is for bling only (it does look sweet) and will give a few extra hp with a tune to accomodate it but nothing really serious.

On a blower car though I would suspect it will make more of an impact.

You can get other TB's for much less (you have to use the stock tps and swap/calibrate it) but I have seen many threads on other boards where there were all kinds of issues getting them set right (mostly hanging idle) and some guys just ended up taking it back off out of frustration.

The Ford racing tb comes with the tps installed and should be set after you have the battery disconnected long enough to kill the kam.
Hopefully, the price comes down in the future after the novelty wears off.
