Transmission Fluid Change (Flush) and Filter.
Had the transmission serviced yesterday (September 13) as part of routine maintenance at 75783 miles (121,000) km. Transmission Tech told me that from his inspection the tranny appeared to be in great shape. When I got home I put the GT in reverse and notice a bit of a rough shift to the rear, this happened a couple of times then calmed down. I call the transmission shop back and was informed that when the old fluid is drained and new fluid and filter added the transmission has to re-learn its shift steps, similar to putting a new battery in a S197.

The problem with flushes is that you can never get all the flush out of the torque converter. I prefer a drain and fill or a continuous siphon and refill system. The down side is that a proper siphon and refill after filter and gasket change takes nearly double the trans. fluid to do it right. That's why they are more money. Like $150+

I have owned a number of daily drivers, couple of Mustangs and old school Muscle cars. Traded in a 2008 Pontiac Grand Am with 300,000 plus clicks on it never touched the trany. Current daily driver (2010 fusion) has 200,000 plus clicks, son-in-laws is approaching 400,000 and have never touched it. In my opinion its a case of "if it aint broke, don't fix it". Unless the fluid turns brown/black and smells burnt, leave it alone.
I know transmissions today have to learn your driving habits etc. but have never heard of a fluid change requiring it.
Macgyver is quit correct you can never get all the old fluid out of the tourque converters.
My last point if your tranny is not shifting correctly after a fluid change check the fluid level (when you engine is HOT)
Good Luck
