Winter blues, Headlight issue s197

Hey guys, starting to get the winter blues with my 05 gt..

down to business!

** Stock head lights, not AN HID SETUP **

I notice 1 of the headlight was dimmer than the other before leaving for work.Got to work at 4 and finished at 12, i started to drive off and I noticed

I had no headlights at all, had to drive with my fogs all the way from etobicoke to scarborough.

Got home,
Tested fuse 59 63 in the engine bay , all good
Check all the bulbs they were all good.
pull the battery thinking it would reset it, nothing

I am out of idea of what wrong.

If anyone ever had this issue, your input would be awesome!

The only thing I could think of is perhaps a load equalizer, not sure if there is on in the 05 GT. If there is one perhaps it is blown. The reason I mention this is that I just bought new tail lights for my 05 4.0 with LED bulbs. I have to slice in a 50w load equalizer so that the new LED bulbs do not blow any fuses. I am thinking perhaps your vehicle has a similar setup to equalizer the load between the headlights and the fog lights.

Hey Monera96. The headlamps are controlled by the SJB. The headlamps and multifunction switch are hard-wired to the SJB. If both headlamp are inoperative Possible source is SJB.

Hi Monera96
Still running your 05 GT. Have same car and have just upgraded the stock headlight bulbs with the new Lumens (from Philips) plus smart boxes. Pretty easy install. Have to ensure the OEM red grommet gets removed or the new bayonet fit bulbs will not secure. My red grommets seemed to be lightly siliconed in, but may have been slightly cooked over time as they had to be pulled off. I will put a DIY article together. BTW much better lighting....

cheers
