anyone have pulleys done?
anyone have pulleys done?
does any one have them done?. how u like it any diferences and noticable gains as well as what brand is recomended? im going to be changing my belts soon so thinking of getting the hole delio done.
is there any major noticable things like in the steering i herd it takes away some precentage of your power steering?? and im not sure about this but i also herd something about loosing power in ur ac?
Underdrive pullies will slow down accessories by 20-25% reducing drag on your engine and freeing up some hp.It can put strain on your alternator,if your running a/c lights and a system all at once,it makes it hard for your system to charge your battery when you are at idle..
Some ways to combat that are to install a bigger alternator,or speed up your idle..

Steeda like J-roc.
Like the fact the harmonic balancer is part of the new pulley and you don't have to marry your old one to the new pulley.
Definately a worthwhile mod that you can easily do yourself. Also have never had any charging issues.

March piggybacks here on my 02 GT. Charging system is fine. Power steering, once in a blue moon, requires more effort when maneuvering in a parking lot with engine near idle. I don't remember that when it had the factory pulleys. AC is fine too.
One thing that I've read and heard with the modular is that the oil pump gears (the oil pump is located on the crank snout behind the timing cover and cam chain sprockets) can be more susceptible to fatigue failures under certain circumstances if the harmonic damper (i.e. the crank pulley) is changed to one with a significantly lighter mass. I don't much care for the appearance of the piggybacks but I like that the factory damper mass is still there...
