Well just found out that the Reinhart Kit for my 2V
needed to be modified.
But apparently this can not be done for some reason..so I am scrapping the cooling mod idea for now!!

When I end up doing the head work and cams in a year or two than I will go with this
set-up....

I heard about the freakin struggles you guys have been having trying to get the right peice. I don't blame you for throwing in the towel for now.

Never fails though...all the "big" work moves along at light speed...then some "little" PITA thing bites you in the *** and takes longer than the entire install to deal with.

 

I am working on making one for the 2v at some point

I heard about the LDC setup a while back and they are on back order big time

if you have a cooling system or an intercooler wouldn't this lower combustion heat making it not neccessary now to run colder plugs?

 

You NEED to run a colder plug to reduce/eliminate the chance of detonation. Detonation is not something you can always here. It is occuring well before you hear it and you can either have tools to amplify it or a very trained person will be able to feel detonation before it occurs.

Anyone with tuning/engine know how who says you do not need to run colder plugs (2 steps on a 2V and 1 step on a 4v) has no clue what they are talking about....I have seen way to many shops ignore stuff like this and it has resulted in blown motors.

You also need to reduce the gap to prevent blowout. Spark Blowout is very bad it can cause the sparkplug insulator to break up and get digested thru the engine.

Yes, by being intercooled, you are reducing the charge temperatures; however, you are forcing 80-100% MORE air into the engine increase the load on the vehicle. You are still going to be way hotter than without the blower...you are just trying to cool the 80-100% extra air going into the engine. Setups like Vortech's aftercooler and Factory 03 Cobra Intercooler setups are not the best for the street....the liquid comes to a boil very rapidly....many people overlook a lot of the cooling items with liquid to air
