I'm Going Insane

It's been 5 weeks and I'm going insane waiting for my car.

How do crazy people wait like 5 months? That's just nutty! :bduh:

Still unscheduled and clean - no build date or VIN.

ARGH! :banghead:

that is all.

You should just come to Eastgate Ford in Hamilton and buy the one sitting in the showroom. White with Sonic Blue shelby stripes. 5-speed manual. IUP.

I am sure you have done this already, go to another dealer and get them to do a search on the exact car you want in Ontario if that is where you are. If they find one, go to your dealer and get them to do a dealer trade. It will not cost you anything, do not let them bull you about a driver and exspenses. ( I worked at Ford dealership selling cars) If no go I guess you have to sit on your hands.

What kind of time frame they given you? Should have been 6 weeks from date of order. (unless back log) You can go in and pull up your order on the new car sales managers or used car sales managers computer screen and actually see where it is in the build process. They can even give the date that Auto haulway is picking it up and dropping it off. When I worked there I did that with the Dad's f150. Gave him updates all the time. good luck.

I was talking to a employee of Rose City at the market tonight and he said no new Mustangs will be shipped to them for 1-2 months. They are all going state side :banghead:.Try to be patient :)

No competition from GM and Chyrsler, demand higher than supply, retro styling... it's like the 60's all over again! :chacha:

Go to www.blueovalnews.com
Register
Then go to the forums...."For employee's"
Look for a post "Mustang orders and VIN#'s"
Post your Vin, a guy by the name of Kitz (I think) will give you all the details of your car from the factory..
Order date, blend date. build date, gate release and so on.

Good luck...

I've got just over a week to go !!!!!!!!

Is that just for the new cars or for all Mustangs? I saw a site that said you could email them your VIN and they would send you a bunch of info about the car back but I never heard back from the guy.

thanks for all the tips - unfortunately i don't have the VIN.

my dealer is great - run by close family friend's of mine so it's not a problem there. i get updates from my guy every friday. i have the DORA and tried calling the ERL (electronic robot lady) but she couldn't recognize my order number so i couldn't get a status. the dealer doesn't have any allocation issues so it's not that.

i've tried doing searched based on dealers in southern ontario who have their new vehicle inventory online. i CANNOT believe that Summit Ford has SIXTY TWO mustangs on their lot. the problem is finding a: Performance White GT Coupe 5 speed with black leather, IUP, Shaker 1000, Side Airbags, Antitheft, Bullit Wheels and NO bodyside mouldings.

It's impossible :(

At least I'll be a one of a kind.... :tup

That is probally off the oasis report. Tells them who owned the car, what it has been in for service, any recalls, tsbs, build date, all other things related to your car. I know on th e Mach site you can give the vin and they will print out an oasis in the states.

If you know someone here at a dealer they can do the same thing for you. I am not sure how far back they go for what years.

Nice to know the exact build date, they can even tell what shift it was built on. Good luck. Go to a dealer and ask them to run an "oasis" report on your vin. Ge tthe service manager to run it for you. that is who has access to it. Get a print out of it.

FYI to anyone who cares, my 2005 GT order has officially been bumped to 2006.

This was ultimately my decision, but really, based on the fact that I'm still C/U, by the time my order gets pulled (IF it ever does), I won't get the car until June or July, at which time I might as well just wait another month and get a whole extra "year" on paper. I'm also holding out for spoiler delete on the 06s in Canada.

BOOOO to getting a Summer car in September. I'll let you guys know if there are any spectacular changes to the ordering guides once they're released (this or next week).
