MAF Screen

Is there any advantage to pulling out the MAF screen or should it just be left alone.?

I would leave it alone unless you get a CAI that calls for it out. I do not know the ins and outs of it ha ha but I know I have heard so many horror stories when people take them out, especially on Machs with the K&N CAI.

I have mine out and am using the Stedda CAI, no problems and no stalling.

I called about the stalling issue to Steeda in the USA and they said it is mainly due to not getting a proper seal between the MAF housing and the Filter. I made sure that mine was seated correctly and sealed before final install.

On a stock motor I do know the advantages or the disadvantages of removing or keeping in. Peace.

The screen is there primarily to smooth and even out airflow over the MAF sensor to ensure accurate metering but it also serves to help keep larger crap out of the engine in case the filter gets a hole in it.

Having said this, the K&N FIPK on my GT removes the screen and my car is absolutely fine with it.

Mines gone since I put the CAI on

Yank it. No need for it.

Using the gasket supplied with most intakes allows for a proper seal.....any leaking air will cause lots of problems.

I'm not running one either with my aftermarket intake. No problems here :)
