Mod/Power Combos 05/06GT

So what do you have done to your 05-06 GT? What kinda rear wheel HP are you making? I just picked up an 05 GT and would love to get it to 300 RWHP, anyone out here hit that mark yet n on supercharged?

Guy from Guelph has an 05 GT.

4.10 Gears
Vortech H.O. S/C
Triax Shifter
Magnaflow S/S Catback
Custom Tune

And is pulling 499 to the wheels...

500RWHP 05

Wow!
2005 Vortech Intercooled Supercharger HO kit installed and Dyno'd today.
Everything went well on the insatall but it takes a couple of days due to all the coolant plumbing and moving stuff around.
I was hoping for 420-450 RWHP.
On my first pull I was really careful due to timing and detonation issues, so I just rolled it on to about 7/8 throttle and finished off at about 5700 rpm...The result was 440 RWHP! The guy on the Dyno said it looks great and the fuel air mixture is about the best he's seen. Give me more RPM.

On my last pull I finished at 6600 RPM with the power curve still climbing at about a 20 degree angle but I am not going to push past these RPM numbers at the track.

The results on the Dynojet were:
Standard 499.19 RWHP @6600 RPM 422.39 lbs RW Torque
SAE 488.72 RWHP @6600 RPM 414.2 lbs RW Torque
Air temperature was about 87'F
A 6200 RPM pull netted about 480.

I was not sure about the Diablosport tuner that comes with the kit. My technician said it is the smoothest 1st tune from a kit he has come across.
There are options available to modify in the program but coming out of the gate I couldn't be happier. W ewil graph the program and have a look.
This car is still very smooth and comfortable to drive. There is NO way I would go with a Roots type charger. This is my second centrifugal and I love the way they roll on power.

He said non-supercharged...

With a chip and full exhaust you should be well over 300rwhp :tup

sct flash tuner

I have heard that even to put in a cold air kit you need to tune it with the sct excalibrator 2 or other flash tuners to make the car run right, I wonder if this is true. with 300 flywheel horse power I would think they make around 250 to the wheels. not sure that an axle back exhaust, cold air kit, and flash tune will get it their but it's probably close to that. wonder how these 05/06 gt's respond to full exhaust or at least a high flow catted x-pipe and catback.

Most stats I have seen on the 05/06 gt run numbers of 265-270 hp and 300 lb/ft of torque at the rear wheels ie Mustangs & Fast Fords etc.

Too bad you don't get MM&FF, every issue they've been doing extensive dyno testing on the new 3V. You may want to check out their website to see if anything is posted there.

yah I've been reading the MM&FF also, some real nice write ups on power combos but I was wondering weather anyone locally with an 05/06 gt had done anything to crack the 300rwhp mark and what mods they have that gottem their. I read how some people felt in stock trim they were lacking in power but I am real happy with my 5spd GT's power and it's all stock,I haven't had it on the dyno but apparently most bone stock 05's are around 250 rwhp.

Interesting in so far as every article I have read (many) put the numbers from the dyno at 265-270 BONE STOCK. I have yet to see a number even close to 250. The difference from 250 to 265-270 is considerable. Enjoy the new car :tup

Well, MM&FF got 299 out of it with the BBK CAI and TB kit for it.......so that's worth looking into.
