I have a 99 GT and just learned this motor is more desirable because of PI heads, I can not find much info about this, does anyone have more info? it would be appreciated before i start doing mods to the car.

The difference between the non-PI and PI motors is the intake, heads and the cams. More air flow and a more aggressive cams.

they are known to spin bearings as well. Keep it well maintained and well oiled.

yep and i just learned the 99 00 are windsor heads the same as the truck motor i guess ford made them in the windsor plant as opposed to the 'romeo heads which are made in michigan , maybe because of the plant explosion?
now i have to find out if they are different castings, which i think they are

99 and 00 are Windsor motors from top to bottom.

The differences:
The Windsor PI head has separate cam journal caps. The Romeo PI head has the bridge-style caps. Timing chain cover bolt holes on the Romeo head are smaller (8 mm) than those on the Windsor heads (10 mm). The cam sprockets are different as well.

Here's a good read for you:

99+ PI Motor's were made at both plant's and this can be determined by counting the number of bolts on your valve covers. I wish I knew which had which off the top of my head.

Also note:

PCM: 99+ has a more agressive configuration because of the better PI Heads/Cams

to meister
i was going by the info i had found on the web which is not much, so the 99 00 are different than 01 and up ? This is basically what i've been trying to find out and what it could cause later when upgrading heads and motor
Thanks
