Steeda underdrive Pulleys

They are the ones that you want seeing that they ar SFI approved, and are not a piggy back in style!:tup
They worked closely with Ford on their design to meet/exceed the OEM standards.

Have them on my car. Very easy install with the right tools. Can't say I noticed any seat of the pants gains in HP but the engine does idle smoother and the rpm and acceleration are also smoother and quicker. I would definitely recommend the steedas as 1low suggested.

VERY GOOD CHOICE.
CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH STEEDA.

If you are considering that for your 03 Mach 1 then I personally would not install pullies.

Just do a bit of searching on the net and you'll likely see hundreds of posts on this subject concerning ud pullies for the dohc Mach 1 engine.

Basically, from what I've read from people who've done this mod and had issues is that the smaller crank pully leads to oil pump failure at high rpm's.
It appeared to be more of an issue for the 5 speed Mach 1's and less the auto.
The Cobra engine didn't have the same issue due to the crank being forged and not cast (as in the Mach1).
For up to 10 hp it wouldn't be worth the risk to me.

Like I said, search the net and you should find plenty on this issue and then you can make an informed decision.

Here is a link to the Mach1 registry on this issue to help you out.

That's nuts!!Should be a disclaimer for the Mach 1 guys!!

^you beat me to it DTK, yea I wouldnt do it on my mach the power gain vs. the risk just is not there you can do Cobra R alt pulley, and a larger diameter water pump pulley, those will help with full bolt-ons.

UDP's for mach 1

Thanks everyone for the info from what I have read at mach 1 registry (dtk)
it does not sound like a good idea for 5 spd's and would work well with the
auto's since mine is a 5 spd I will not be pursuing UDP's for my car.

I have the 01 water pump pulley. They are march I believe. If you want it pm me. I got the whole set pretty cheap however their for the 01 and up but from what I have leaned the only difference it the water pump pulley in the gts. I am gonna use the rest of them

Jeremy554 02-12-2011 09:36 AM

so is it a good idea to do the under pulley kit for a 5 speed gt? or will that bring up the same high rpm issue?
