tb spacer problem

i installed my tb spacer today but i couldnt get the car to idle properly id get it to idle just below 1thousand then id tap the gas up to 3 thousand then the car starts to sputter like its gonna die out cause the rpm would play from 500 hundread to about 9 hundread rpms..

on my second attempt the car would rev at 3thousand rpm and i wouldnt even have to apply gas to take off.. but the car didnt sputter this time lke its gonna shut off.

anyone experience this before??? i really dont wanna play with the throtell idler much cause im sacred im gonna mess it up even more any suggestions or tips???...

Did you install everything back to where it should be.When i installed mine, and fired it up after i was done,it rain just like it did before the spacer was on.Almost sounds like you got a vacuum leak.

i checked for gapping air around the tb but theres nothing... i keeped re-adjusting the brackets that extends the cable linkages and it got better each time the idiling.. but it would get worse once i started to drive it.. it would get stuck at like 3thousand rpms....

Sounds like a throttle linkage/adjustment problem to me, is it possible the throttle linkage is contacting something it wasn't before? Disconnect the linkage and check for smooth operation of the cable-it should move very easily. I'd also make sure nothing is contacting the throttle plate.

yea it was moving freelly before... it justwhen i rev it it would rev high and stay that way or it would go back down to like 500 rpms or so and jump up and down sputering... i tried re-adjusting the extension brackets for the cables and i would get it perfect on idle until i start driving then it would get weird

Humm that is wierd!, It kinda does sound like a vacuum leak to be sure use propain...and if it is not the vacuum, It is for sure a throttle linkage, and/or cable.......Oh did you put the return spring back on your throttle linkage?

Sorry,i didn't realize it was the spacer that goes between the throttle body and intake, thought it was the intake spacer.LOL
Still sounds like a vacuum leak.though!!

You can try to locate a possible vacuum leak by spraying some WD-40 around the area and listen for an RPM change. Is the car stick or auto?
