Underdrive pulleys

Anyone had any good/bad experiences with underdrives? I have heard that overheating can be a problem. My 02 GT is a daily driver (summer) and I don't want to mess up my AC or over heat. Especially in this cold weather we have been having.
I am looking to make some easy/cheaper upgrades.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I've got March piggybacks on mine and have had no problem after a couple of years now. I got 4.5rwHP and 7 ft-lbs. No charging issues, no cooling issues. Just make sure you seal the crank keyway with silicone, install the crank pulley with a close-to-factory damper mass and durometer, use a new crank snout bolt and torque it properly. You shouldn't have any issues doing this.

About the only "complaint" might be an increase in power steering effort at times in the parking lot with the engine at idle and me wheeling around. Easy to fix by bumping the idle speed a smidgen with the SCT though :D

Had them on my '02 no problems.. had to go back to stock when I got the blower installed.. so if that's something you're planning on in the future.. spend the money elsewhere.

FWIW... I wasn't impressed with the very small power gain. No real "seat-of-the-pants" feeling.. but then its only like 5.

Spend a few extra $$ and get gears... the best bang for the buck you can get.

I've been told by "someone who ought to know" that there is an added benefit of underdive pulleys for those of us who track our cars (i.e open track, lapping, solo sprint, etc). With the underdrive pulleys, the cooling system has less "cavitation", leading to better cooling at prolonged high revs. In fact, this was the primary reason it was recommended I get a set (which I'll be doing soon).

Went with Steeda U/D's and there have been no problems.

Lots of travel in 35+ degree temps, no cooling issues or charging problems.
