I'm not surprised and I think first place we deserved.

GM has to wake up. They make some of the best engines in the World such as the LS1, LS6, etc but their exterior styling is terrible! The GTO looks like a Grand Prix on sterroids. If the GTO had it's own unique look, such as the Mustang, it wouldn't have been the "Blunder from Down Under".

Very few people buy cars today simply for the engine. Buyers want the complete package. You get that with the Mustang. The GTO has a fantastic interior, amazing powertrain and a rental car exterior. Not much has changed.

nobody seems to get this. when the gto first game out back in the 60s, it was just an option package in the model line up. it eventually turned into its own car. this is what i think they are doing again. which is cool. because its returning to its roots.

True, I think they're going for an understated look, but like it mentions in the article the styling is more 90's than anything else which makes it look boring. Also the later GTO's like the Judge model were loud and far from understated. It needs a more updated unique look to make it the complete package.

While the original GTO certainly did start tame, it quickly evolved and is remembered as one of the most outrageous cars ever built.

That is the car people think of when you say GTO.

Sure, the current car is "true" to the where the orginal car began. In the ealy years there was even a maketing campain aimed at women where GTO was said to stand for "Girls Take Over"!

No one cares, we want the offspring of the wild car everyone loved!

GM really should have given it it's own look. If people want a grand prix, they'll buy one

The best thing they should have done was not called it a GTO in the first place!

i think the fact that gm swapped the vette motor into it pretty much proves that their are serious about making it a very well performing muscle car. if they sold them up here, and didnt want an arm and a leg for them (all GM perofrm, ance cars are way too expensive) i would buy one over the new mustang.
