2013 5.0 Exhaust smell

Good day to all.
I have a 2013 5.0 GT with the Race pack and I have noticed that when I start the car it has a very unique smell to the exhaust. The closest thing that I can think of for the smell is the smell you get when you run without CATs.

The car is stock and I use Shell Gold for my fuel.

I guess that my real question is whether others have noticed this with the newer 5.0s, or do I have something unique happing here. Yes, I am not the only one that can smell it.

Shell gas is known for having to much sulfur. The sulfur may be the cause of the smell. In Alberta I used only Esso and in B.C. I use only Chevron. Switch and see if you get the same smell.:chacha:

I've never noticed with mine. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thank you for the info.
I have made a long run with the car to run the fuel to under 1//4 of a tank, and filled up with Esso. I will see how it goes.

Could be the mufflers breaking in. I know you aren't stock but the stock mufflers when mine was new stunk and smelt hot after going for a drive first the first 5000km or so.

there is no smell from my 2013 5.0 running Shell Exclusively, but regular smells from my rear end to the dismay of anyone around me.

I have swapped over to Esso. And the smell is not there now.
So what I was smelling may have been the fuel.
Thanks for the ideas.

Fuel quality is variable. In Sask. I think that most of the fuel no matter the brand is from the Coop refinery, exception may be Husky.
