347 Stroker Advice on Intake
Hello everyone, I have a 347 stroker that I built on a budget. We do the best we can. Now I have a bit more cash and was wondering will a new intake benefit me at all? Everything will stay the same and my heads are the best I can afford. Time (3 kids)and money is a factor so the heads are staying.
Do you think a new intake would help me squeeze some more power under 5500rpms. I dyno'ed (MD) 327RWHP and 357RWT. I would like some real world experience advice if possible. It is a street car but find i run out of power quick at 4500rpms. Thanks in advance. Elde Performer, performer 2 Track heat.....etc Here are some of my mods: 347 stroker 10.25.1 compression Y303 GT40 turbo swirl cylinder heads Comp cams custom ground cam shaft (similar to Ecam but 347 friendly) 1.7 Ford motor sports roller rockers Cobra upper and lower intakes IAC spacer 24lb injectors 190 litre per hour fuel pump adjustable fuel pressure regulator 70mm throttle body Mac cold air intake 75mm Mass air flow sensor MSD 6A ignition box MSD blaster coil under drive pulleys Aluminium drive shaft 3.55 rear end gears Exhaust Mac 1 5/8 equal lenght headers Mac 2 1/2 in pro chamber H-pipe Mac 2 1/2 cat back exhaust |

I've been out of the fox cars for a while now but I knew a few guys on a budget that used a Professional Products intake with alot of time porting and had good results. They are more or less an Edelbrock knock off. I'm thinking the heads may be holding you back as well but I'm no expert.

edelbrock air gap or rpm performer only way to go, professional product intakes are junk junk junk my buddy dynoed his 347 with one an air gap, rpm performer, pro product and a stock 1985 5.0l. Guess which one didn`t make the power pro products was less than stock and by 10hp BUT it was pretty went with rpm performer with 1/2 inch spacer.Go to youtube and type in SUCK SQUEEZE BANG BLOW THEY DO THE DYNO FOR THEM ON

another option - you could always look into a explorer upper lower intake - on a budget they're dirt cheap - flow better than Cobra intakes and are fairly cheap if you know where to look. and they'll be port matched to your heads!
