Cylinder heads

What is the bolt sequence I should use when tighting stock heads down.

White_Snake Jul 11, 2007 03:35 PM

This is from ford manual. for a 95 5.0...should all be the same.thumb:

NOTE:
The RH cylinder head has one stud at location 8. The LH cylinder head does not.
The cylinder head bolts are tightened in three steps:
Refer to the following illustration for the tightening sequence.

a.Tighten all bolts in sequence to 34-47 N-m (25-35 lb-ft).

b.Tighten all bolts in sequence to 61-75 N-m (45-55 lb-ft).

c.Tighten all bolts in sequence an additional 1/4 turn (85-95 degrees).
