Take it to the dealer u bought it from, probably a bad sensor or gaugue.

most sending units have a float that rests on top of the fuel. This float is connected to a rod which is then connected to a sensor, which measures amperage. the Higher the level of fuel, the lower the rod sits in the sensor. This is when your amperage will be highest. This is also what determines what your fuel gauge will read. Now, I'm thinking that since this guy put a larger fuel pump in, he definately would hav had to of pulled the sendin unit out. I'm thinking that he may have bumped something and caused the sending unit to malfunction. My suggestion is the pull the sending unit and get a manual with all of the specs. Do a visual inspection of the rod and sensor and measure the amperage at different settings on the rod. Compare these readings to your specs. The other thing is that you may need to have your instrument cluster reprogrammed.

use a digital volt meter to measure the connector to the fuel tank. and the other lead to ground. 200 ohm scale. it should be some were between 10 and 90 ohms.depending on how much fuel you have.

if you have resistance on once side. and intermittent power coming from the dash regulator. make sure the dash regulator has 12 volt input and ground and then an intermittent output. this is how the dash regulator works
