Fuel line problem
Had the car (92 GT) off the ground today at CTC and noticed that the fuel line from the tank was up against the exhaust (bent piece over/behind the diff/axle) and partially melted. Obviously need to get this fixed ASAP before it melts through and starts a fire.
Anyone experience this before? Any recommendations to fix? I was told this hose/tube is a dealer item...not sure what the labour is to replace it. |
I've had the same problem myself, to solve it i dropped the tank to replace the line. When i put the tank back in to place i rerouted the fuel lines around the tank strap (used the strap to keep them away from the exhaust) and reattached to the filter and return line. You don't need any special tools to do this, and it takes about an hour to do. if you have a jack and jackstands you can do it in your driveway! save the labour cash for parts!

http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/cwm/cwm/eek2.gif I would trust wrench-wielding monkeys before I took my car to those guys.. ..Too many bad experiences. |
It was really just to get it off the ground to add a couple rack limiters and remove my quads...no brain surgery there. Anything major it goes elsewhere.

get rid of the tail pipes and use turn downs....save some weight and go faster :)

Won't that get me a ticket from the folks at MTO? They're blitzing in Toronto now (mirrors under the car and everything)
