Oh...icic..

right...i was mixed up about the harmonics part. But you say hi rpm is where it is the worst. Maybe ill be ok then, i keeping the motor mainly stock, just updating the heads, intake, ecm, and throttle body. I just wanna make some noise..lol

Personally, I'd get a good double roller timing chain like a Cloys or FMS and be done with it. You are spending less money and running a safer setup.

The comment about RPM was more in reference to engines that came with gear drives stock, like the 300 I6, which didn't like going past 4,000RPM, or diesels............

5,500RPM or 6,000RPM............. I'm sure the harmonics at those RPMS are probably a fair bit more prominent than say the 4,000RPM the I6 might be revving to............

I could be wrong though.

I agree with Overkill,a double roller is best. The gear drives are old school, most race cars run belt drives to contain harmonics.

Well, thanks everyone

I think im going to give the "old school" a shot. If something goes wrong, ill know to stick to the double roller next time.

Must be a Chevy boy at heart, heehhee, those are the only guys I see really lusting after the gear drives............
