Hard Starting

It just started doing this last week. I need to give it some gas. I need to step on the gas a few times before she will start. She also has a little miss?
However after she runs it seems to start ok?
I'm thinking fuel pump?? What do you think it could be?:banghead: Do you know if the fuel pump can be tested??

I'd start with the basics. When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced?

Never & I've had my GT over 3 yrs lol! So yes I will change it out tomorrow.

Changed the fuel filter it was very dirty. Still will not start unless I pump the hell out of it. After she starts it will back fire out of the intake in 1st gear. I have 160,000 miles on the car. My buddy thinks it could be the timing chain but can't hear it rattle? I only drive my Mustang once a week.
