I Need To Replace the clutch on my 88 Cobra

Hello, I just bought a BEAUTIFUL 1988 mustang cobra. Unfortunately on the three hour drive home the clutch started to go...Now the car won't even start If anyone could give me tips on installing a new clutch or where I could find a new clutch for cheap it would great to get my baby back on the road!!

I heard alot of good things about a King Cobra clutch for your fox, Ive also been told they are fairly priced.

hope this helps

I had a King Cobra installed in mine and it works great, supposidly 10% less pedal pressure than stock, its best to buy the package, with pressure plate, bearing, maybe alignment tool as well. Depending on HP the King Cobra is only good for about 400hp i've heard.

As for doing it yourself....get a Chilton's Manual..step by step..

I do alot of dealing on e-bay and i've bought from these guys before, pretty good if you wanna check it out, they have a few clutch's

Ya, I did mine end of last summer. Also put in a King Corbra. It was cheaper then the oreg. GT clutch. Nice clutch, kicks like a mule Don't be gentle with it. FRPP has a kit that comes with a throwout bearing part #M-7560-A302, you want to change that to. You have to machine the flywheel and I would also consider a new clutch quadrent and cable if they haven't been already updated. Coming out of Kincardine, I dunno London and Kitchener are going to be you best bets for install I guess. But you allready knew that I'm sure. I had Steeda install mine took just a few hours and I was back on the road for my motoring pleasure's As far as not being able to start it. Remove the sensor to the pedal. You should be able to start it without having to engage the clutch. :thumb1: Good luck and giv'r sh!t.

Thanks everyone, it sounds like king cobra is the way to go. I'm going to check out ebay since I do alot of dealing on there and I have a friend who has agreed to help me install the new clutch.
