Machine shop/Tuner in Calgary
Hey does anyone here know of any good machine shops around calgary? I am planning on getting a set of gt40p heads ported but I don't know where to take them, also I am planning on getting a tune in the spring after I install them (due to the larger cam and all my other modifications) I know the mustang shop does it, but has anyone ever gone there? Are they pretty good to deal with or do you have any other suggestions of where to go?
Thanks Kev |
Talk to Matt Mitchell at the Mustang Shop. Hes a great guy and has been in the business for a long time. And is a Certified SCT tuner.

He doesn't and you might want to check out Western Motorsports. A friend with an 06gt has all his machining done in the Hat. I will see if I can get the name.thumb:

I've have dealt with Western Motorsports a couple of years back talk to Shannon very smart dude, very smart. But i currently only use Steeda.ca and the Mustang Shop, if your looking for anything locally in alberta give Matt a call he'll gladly help you out. Also Shannon Wall from Western will be glad to help you also. Who ever you preference is. You can't go wrong with either of the two.

I lived in Calgary a few years ago and dealt with Western Motorsports a bit, good company, they definitely know their mustangs.

For machine shops, you can try RMP race engines (bob prowse), Brads Machine, or precise engine rebuilders. The first two have been in the racing game for many moons, and you'll pay for their experience. They're the best in alberta. Precise has done some work for me in the past, and i have no complaints.

cool, I am not looking to go crazy with the heads, just clean them up and maybe a little porting. I was looking to spend 300-500 on them nothing to extreme
|
Hey I have been calling every one I can find but they are all booked up for the next few months (I know I am an idiot for waiting until the end of march), has anyone got any other suggestions?
|

ya I am planning on doing most of the install my self and I am sending my heads down to florida to get them ported and polished/rebuilt the shops here are charge wayyyyyy to much
|
You might lookup this guy as well, he has some fast stuff with not alot of cash sunk in...
http://www.tomak.net He has a dyno shop as well. |
thats who owns that turbo mustang, damn that thing is fast I have seen him at the track here, it looks like crap but damn is it fast!
I might have to talk to this guy, thanks |
Techmotion.ca is great for Dyno tuning. I had my car done there and Matt is awesome. He is a mustang guy as well.
The Mustang Shop is good but Matt talks alot. Some great prices though. Western Motorsports is good too. A little more technical than the Mustang Shop. Hope that helps. |
