what octane rated fuel should i be runnin in my lill stang. i put some low grade cause i wasnt sure what to use. also what is the timing supposed to be at ? its a 5.0 ho in a a 87 notch. the reason i ask is cause when u stomp on her it has a lill deiseling sound or slight ping when shes wound out.

 

From the factory it would be 87 octane. Even in the 05 Gt it's 87 octane. Some of the guys might suggest mechanical things to correct hestitation etc :biggrin: Don't forget it's thanksgiving so your answers may be answered tommorrow. Peace

 

Does the car need a tune-up? Sounds like you might have a bad miss. Try running some 91+ fuel and see if that takes it away.

well its seems the stang dosent like the cheaper gas. i put a bottle of octane boost , now no deiseling, but i think i still need a tune up. anyone know what the timing should be set at on my car? its an 87 lx 5.0 ho automatic, and its bone stock.

 

I run 87 mostly!
