Bad idea. Get the off road H-pipe and install it. When it comes time to e-test just turn the timing back and she will pass. :tup

#1-nobody will test your car without cats.
#2-your car will likely fail without cats.
#3-you don't need 4 cats, just 2, as long as they're 3-way cats, factory Ford uses 2-1way cats and 2-2way cats.
#4-if you don't run cats, you will smell fuel from the tails whenever it's ruinning, wanna smell my car????
#5-come e-test time, I re-install my factory H, and go.

Well thats funny, I got my car e-tested with a off road h-pipe and it passed. So I guess its just a matter of opinion :)

Mine failed with no cats.. it depends on the car. MOST places will not pass you on the visual inspection. They are surpose to look under the car for the proper equipment.

As for you passing with out cats.. you are one of very few. I've heard of people passing before.. not many.

As for an off-road H-pipe. I like my MAC prochamber. Sounds mean.. but is it worth a $400 ticket and sitting in traffic smelling raw fuel.. nope.

Ponyryd is correct.

I'll be adding 2 highflow 3 way cats to my Prochamber.

I like the x pipe,i have a bassani x pipe and it sounds great.Plus you gain a little extra hp with an x compared to the h pipe....

Driveclean is now non-visual on the testing portion, I have been told this by a couple of shops and I believe its on the site now as well. My car was never visually inspected during its E-tests, and that was at three different places. It failed the first two times (15 degrees) but passed the last time (right on the line) with an Off-Road H-Pipe on it, no pollution pump and base set to 4 degrees, so it can definitely be done.

The suggestion on running two 3-way cats is the best idea, two three-way high flows won't cost you any real power and you'll breeze through your E-tests. MTO may still hastle you, but technically you are in the right and will win if it goes to court.

A visual test is still a must, the vehicle to be tested needs to be inspected for cat(s) and a fuel cap before it even gets to the dyno. If your car was never given a visual, chances are it's only because the person doing the test didn't know the rules.

They've never done a visual inspection on my car. Not even gas cap. The guy is a lazy bastard.
