Oil leak question/confusion (87 gt)

So i though i had a rear main seal issue, but I was talking to a guy and he said my PCV system my be upchucking oil. Does he mean that my PCV valve might be pluged? I took it out last night and shook it, it rattles freely. Also for sake of the question, if he does mean my PCV valve was blocked, where would the oil leak from? Rear of th lower intake?

Also let me say this, storing a car and not driving it is the worse thing you can do. My 87 was basically parked for 2007-2008-2009, and this year the problems just keep popping up.

Thanks guys.

Common mistake thinking the PCV is ok just because it rattles. There could be a blockage. I would check your Valve cover gaskets first.

I would have to agree. Just shaking it and hearing a rattle does not mean that it is not worn. Is there oil residue around the gromet on top of the valve cover if that is where it is located. I would also take a look at the valve cover gaskets as well. A good sign that the rear seal may be on its way out would be noticable oil collecting on the bottom of the bell housing and the bottom of the trani. Where exactly are you seeing the oil leak?

Cheers

The rear of the lower intake is know to eventually leak.Valve cover gaskets are another one known to eventually leak aswell.

I thought I had a rear main seal leak which I did and fixed. I fixed my valve covers which were leaking as well, but still leaked oil. I found that the lower plenum of the manifold is leaking as well as the oil level sensor and the oil pan is all leaking as well.....you may have multiple leaks, so have a good look.
