oil pump shaft problems

:poke: Hey guy's can anybody tell me if the make a oil pump driveshaft
3/16 at one end 1/4 at the other?
ive built my motor ,everything new, even went 11;5.1 compression new rods bearings, steel crank piston's keith black pistons, anyhow, went to start it,tryed primming the oil pump, turns out the new melling oil pump use's a 3/16 shaft, the new ford racing shaft is 1/4,,question is does anybody know if they make a stepped down shaft for,one end 1/4 and other 3/16?
If not ive got to pull this motor out again and change the oil pump.
After spending 3 monts to fill and finnish and paint everything in the engine
bay it would suck to pull it out again, any info would help
Thanks fellow mustanger's!!

You either got a pump for a carb'd car and your car is injected or vice-versa, I'm pretty sure they have different shaft diameters. this should help.

^Here's the pic, doesn't say the sizes but looks different sizes end to end, good luck with it.

Think you must have a pump for a 351 in there you are going to have to pull it out again. thought the guru would know this :poke:

My mistake, the parts suppliers I use give me THE RIGHT PARTS so I don't have these problems. Nor am I (or claim to be) an engine builder. :tounge:

^I wasn't trying to say your parts guy sucks, that post was in response to Captain Spalding who didn't offer any advice on how to solve the problem, but did point out that he knew more than me..........................wait, if you've bulit alot of engines, did you also miss the 1st day? B/c "that difference is day one stuff"

I did give advice on how to fix his problem. pull the mill and fix it right!
Maybe you would like to weld a 302 and a 351 shaft together for him :4:

the difference is not injected or carbed it is 302 to 351. guru

So your solution is for him to pull the engine out? If you read his post, that's the exact thing he's trying to avoid doing!, very helpful :tup . I have seen different sized drives and was unsure of what they were from, like I said, I am not an engine builder.........oh, and I must've missed the first day of "guru" training where they covered that...........apparently you were there though  . At least I pointed him into a USEFUL direction instead of ignoring his entire post and telling him he's SOL :bullshit:. Captain.
