re building 302
can I re use the head rod & crank bolts...
we did this in school |
hope your build goes a ok

On the 5.0L pushrod engines, the critical fasteners aren't stretch type "torque-to-yield" bolts like the ones in the 4.6 / 5.0 / 5.4 modular engines. So they can be reused as long as they are in good condition.
cheers Ed N. |
Using ARP fasteners is a good idea.

well CRASH if it was a mega buck build...then yes...its a fairly stock 302...& I will not spend money on a stock block 302...A4 R or Boss...then of course ARP

cheers Ed N. I reused headbolts and it was a mistake. They stretched and I popped a gasket. tailites For the cost, just go ARP regardless if its a stock block or not. Its about $50-100 I believe from somewhere reputable like SummitRacing. |
A box of ARP head bolts for our engine here at a local engine shop was like $42.
