tramsmission question

maybe a dumb question but what is the difference between the v6 and v8 t-5 tranny....what do these number mean? will one pull harder then the other?

gears

the numbers arethe size gears3.8 revs high than 5.o .

Both first gears are pretty low so the only difference you will really notice is with the v6 tranny you will be revving higher in fifth.

so it wouldn't be worth getting a v8 T-5 then

in my opinion. no!
if you have to adventually rebuild your tranny you might want to change some gears then, but those gears dont look to much different :bluecool:

G-ForceJunkie 07-20-2006 07:22 PM

I believe the T5 has a higher torque rating, could be wrong though. :)

StealthGT 07-20-2006 07:31 PM

the v8 T-5 does have a higher tourqe rating...i just thought that the v8 T-5 might pull harder through the gears!

Ponyryd 07-20-2006 07:52 PM

The gearing is very close, the benefit of the higher torque rating is debatable, I know guys who've been running 4cyl. T5s for years with no problems. I'd stick with yours for now, you can always change the gearing come rebuild time.
