Trunk Mount
 

In all my time playing with mustangs I've never actually went the trunk mount battery kit route before. Everyone I knew with one had charging and starting issues and I just wanted to avoid that. I now have no choice however as there is no room up front for the battery. I bought the kit a while ago and just started hooking it up. I was wondering if the top of the rear shock was a good place to ground the battery?

It should be ok, I have heard of people using using the quad shocl bolt also. You will need to also have a battery switch to run at the track when the battery is in the trunk.

So I've heard. Not really in love with the idea of anyone being able to flip the switch on my car, but maybe I'll come up with some trick mounting behind the license plate or something.

I think the battery relocation looks great and it gives you so much more room under the hood.My cut off switch is beside the licensce plate.

a lower seatbelt bolt is also a good place for a ground, it will keep your wiring out of the weather.

DaSilva installed mine (a Taylor kit) and what they did was weld the threaded rods and nuts to the trunk floor. My ground goes to one of the threaded rods and is double nutted in with the battery hold down rod thingy. My ground dosen't leave the battery box.

I really could care less about looks, but the hair dryers hanging off the side of the motor sort of made it necessary lol

I like the lower seat belt idea. I'll have to see if my ground wire will reach that far.

Yes i see what you mean. The hair dryers are my mods for next year so i guess i don't have to move the battery. thumb:

Most switches have the turn key that can come off. There should be a screw in the middle, un screw it and pull the turn key off. Put it back on when it is track time.rockon:
