Water Pump Question, regular flow vs. reverse flow

So my water pump is going out on me, while looking at potential replacements online i notice that some say "Reverse rotation serpentine belt" in their description and others say nothing. What is the difference besides the obvious flow direction, do either work as a OEM replacement no matter the direction of the flow or do I need a reverse flow?

its on my 87 gt and it is a serpentive belt (which i believe is the stock setup)
Thanks
Marc L.

You must use the reverse flow specific for the '85,and up 5.0L H.O.

awesome and thanks, is there anything special i should know about changing the water pump? I remember something about an extra gasket or something along those lines.

The water pump use to come with two diffirent gaskets, make sure you use the correct one,it will not be hard to see which one is the right one.
And you will be only using the one.:tup

There's a gasket between the water pump and the backing plate and a gasket between the pump/backing plate and the block.

To prevent leaks make sure you have a thin film of blue sylicone on both sides of the two gaskets.
