What grade oil to use?

Here in southern Manitoba the temp reaches 30+ in the summer quite often, do you think the 5w30 recommend by ford is good enough or should i switch to a different grade? What brands and/or grades do you other members use?

I think it is good enough, they changed the new ones to 5w20 to conserve fuel. Anyway, most of the cars are sold in the states. If you look at the temp overall in the states it is higher than what Manitoba or anywhere in Canada gets to.

If you drive it normally and race it the odd weekend that grade of oil will be fine for use. Just make sure you cahnge it regularly. That is a must. Peace.

5W30 is fine

It gets to be above 30 here... And with the smog... sometimes high 30's and I've never had a problem with oil consumption.

During the summer season I run 20W50 and when it cools down I step down to 10W30. 5W30 is too thin for the hot summer heat if you ask me.

Actually Leamington is the most southern city, Kingsville is the most southern town, point pelee is the most southern point, and pelee island is the most southern landmass in canada. I'm from kingsville (about 10 minutes from leamington). I'm just staying in Stratford while at school. Ill be moving back down south after my finals are done.
