1967 Coup Instrument Panel Guages
 

Hi, I'm new to the Forum and pleased to be part of the team.

I have a question regarding the instrument panel gages.

Does anyone know what the full scale current rating of the gages are?
It appears that the displayed values all appear to be out of spec for some reason. I have checked the gas sender, temp sender and oil pressure sender and they are ok. The voltage regulator is also ok and so is the ground.

Can these gages be calibrated?

Any assistance is appreciated.

I was never able to figure out how to get mine calibrated either, I did have a friend that lent me his Autometer gauges for voltage, oil pressure and temperature and made a note of what the reading on the Autometer set was vrs the readings on my stock gauges, My Voltage gauge was way off from what the Autometer set told me (8v was 10v on my stock gauge and 14V was almost 16v on the stock gauge, I also verified this with a voltmeter at the battery). Temp and oil pressure had no numbers on the stock gauges but I was able to put numbers to the lines on the gauges just for my peace of mind.

With the vinyl printing that is available today I don't think it would be extremely difficult to have someone print out gauge faces for you to install over top of your stock gauges to get the look that you like for a lot cheaper than what aftermarket gauges would cost.

The Ford IVR gives a pulsed out put that equates to 5 volts therefore it cannot be accuratly measured.
Bad grounds are usually the culprit if all else checks out.
