engine question

Looking to build a 351w for a 69 stang...not looking for numbers matching or anything for major power...just a good street car with good jump..what year windsor should I be looking for....

1969 and 1970 are reputed to have the best blocks but I have often heard it said that this is a bit of a wives tale. Still they would certainly be the correct motor regardless.

I would agree anything 1970 or before.

The best 351 block will be a mid 90's with the roller cam.

Going roller really is the way to go, given the opportunity.

There are differences in deck height, cyl heads, water pumps & other items as the 351W evolved over the yrs. Best to get an entire engine, whatever vintage.
