Mustang Coupe value

Hey guys, I just signed up, as I found a car on Kijiji I might go take a look at.

http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ242763985

The car's about 5 hours away from me, but to me it seems REALLY cheap.
Upon further checking around Kijiji/Ebay, I've found that coupe's seem to be REALLY cheap, especially I6/Auto combonations.

I was really looking for a fastback, but the prices around here are ridiculous, for junk car's that aren't even good for parts.

Although the coupe's dont look as sporty, they still look like they'd be fun to drive.

Is that a decent price for a car thats pretty intact with a bit of frame rail damage, assuming it's nothing crazy?

I've owned 3 Mustangs when I was 16, but they were all foxbodys, I know absolutely nothing about first gen's.

If that's an average price for the car I'll probably pass on it, as I don't like vinyl roof's, and the I6/Auto would have to be swapped out... but if that seems like a really good deal, I'll probably take the drive out and go look at it.

Even something manual/V8 in coupe form seems cheap comparatively vs the hatchback.

Is it just people trying to unload them in the winter? Or is this the average price point for a coupe.

Welcome 2 the ZOO!! 3 grand mite B a good deal, but ya gotta go put ur hands on the car, only way 2 tell. If it's as solid as the ad says & it runs, I'd B bringin it home. From the pix, I'd B takin a good look @ the driver side, fender alignment seems off. There's a 68 in Thorald that looked good, but when he pulled the fenders off the car was rotted badly. Good luck.

Terry, You've brought some pretty disgusting things home in the past (not talking cars either lmfao) so, this may not have been the best advice.

I just didn't want to go 5 hours, to find out the car's rotted so I asked for some more pictures.. Still waiting on that..
I was just wondering if this was like a SUPER deal, or if it's about average for a coupe that needs a bit of work.

Here's the response I got to my original email

The car was imported from the US. and I still have the title in the prvious owners name. No problem to switch it over. I have all the proper documents showing it was imported properly and a lean search was done before it was allowed to be imported into Canada. It currently needs a battery and a solenoid to get it running. I bought it back in May and the guy had no ignition tumbler in it and he shorted the solenoid with a screwdriver to start it for me. It ran fine but he burnt out the solenoid in the process. The car would have to be towed if you bought it. Part of the reason it has not sold is because I have been in and out of town and even the Country on business. I am also getting an exteme amount of interest on the car but most people don't have the money or are giving me rediculous offers and trades. I have reduced the price twice and I am pretty much at rock bottom on the price. The car has a solid body with newer quarters on it. The floors appear to be solid from the bottom and from pressing on them. The trunk had some work done to it previously and is solid. The rear inner wheel well housings need to be replaced because there are two holes in them. The housing are only $45 USD each. The front frame rails are solid up until the where they attach to the unibody just past the firewall. They have a bad section on each side that is about 3-4 inches long. They could be repaired easily however to do it right I would replace the rail right from the rad cradle back. They are about $150 USD each. Parts for the car are extremely cheap. I will see if I can dig up some more pics for you to see.

So.. Non running, needs a bit of work.
I had asked him about a title, as I had found another car a month ago, but when we did a lien search, there was a lien on the car, and the title was not in the sellers name, which I didn't like, so we walked away.

Thoughts?

For me it's a fastback or bust, just me though. Good luck

We found ours and bought it for 1000 bucks with a fully enclosed 6x8 trailer with it. We have posted pics on the gallery if your curious about what a grand buys here in B.C. Happy motoring.

Yah Snakebite really cheap was a steal. our tow truck driver(flat deck) went through a car show in Ladysmith B.C. with the car and I was flagged around driving a Ford F 150 pick up. He was offered 7000 cash to drop it right there! I was so glad he didn't but he said I would have got a solid 5000 and he would have had the biggest tip he ever got! lol
