Roller Spring Perches

Hello classic lovers ! (I mean Classic Mustang lovers that is).......

Thought I'd drop a quick note on an interssting item I found for Classic Mustangs.....
"Roller Spring Perches"

What are they you say ?
Well the factory replacement spring perch (that the coil springs sit on), has a rubber bushing. These rubber bushings are not a lubricated part and as such breakdown or bind. Binding is the biggest complaint against them. Bcause of this inherent binding in the Spring Perch bushing, it effects the handling and ride characteristics of the car. An amazing improvement can be made to the handling and the ride of a Classic Mustang with the installation of these Roller Spring Perches. The Roller Spring Perch is a bolt in replacement part, and the rubber bushings are replaced by the use of hardened roller bearings which can be lubricated
They are made by Opentracker Racing Products in California and their Website is http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/
Lotsa great info on their website that can explain the advantages better than I can here.
They are a little more than a factory replacement rubber bushed unit, but well worth it according to John Dinkel the owner.
I have recently purchased a set of these for my 73 Mach1 and can't wait to see the handling difference. These Roller Spring Perches combined with my new KYB "gas-a-just" shocks, and 1-1/8" front sway bar should transform this car into a corner carver (as much as a 2 ton car can be... lol).
If you are doing spring/suspension work of any kind, look into these. Those that have made a switch to them swear by them.

Hey Steve

I was thinking about trying a pair of these in my old crapcan as well. Stu and I have to take out the right front spring anyway, to play with the ride height of the car, so we'd be half way there. LOL

From eveything that I've read on them, they are well worth the money. They say you can feel the difference with them. I will be buying my whole suspension from John. I've talked to him a number of times, and he will help you out with any question you have.
