Rust Protection

I plan on taking my 70 Mustang to Krown for some rust protection, but was wondering...should I let them drill holes on the door sill?? The car is all original and numbers matching. Any suggestions??

If you don't drive it in the winter, then I wouldn't get it done. I've had my 67 for years and the only thing that I've done was spray some of the canned rust check into the factor holes in the doors etc.

No it never sees the snow or rain, and every year I spray it all over and into all the nooks and crannies with LPS Rust Inhibitor and ACF50 Rust Inhibitor. Plus the floor in my garage was acid-etched and epoxy sealed so no moisture, and I have a fan constantly circulating the air. Thanks...I think I'll just keep doing it myself then..I probably do a better job anyways..lol.

I'd keep doing it myself. Better quality job would come from it(you love your car, they well may not care all that much.

well spray some of the canned rust check into the factor holes in the doors.

Yes it's true that other people don't care about your car...I'll just do my own rustproofing. Thx for the advice guys.

I never got mine drilled I like the look of the cleanness and no holes.

I would say don't bother.

+1....that's all I have been doing to my 90 fox, going on 19 years now.:tup

I Krowned once when living in Windsor. Now that it's back in Calgary and with the lack of humidity no driving in the rain and hidden away from the snow I have no need for krown or anything else for that matter:chacha:

Hey don't use Crown use Rust Check, I had a 90 GMC pick up that had Rust Check and the truck was like brand new, I sold it in 02 and it didn't have any rust at all

Rust check is HACK!
Krown has held the overall title for years!

Im just saying from proof.
just my 2 cents.

Yeah me too,.... I spray mine underneath every year with the green gooey rust check cans(usually 3 cans) and under the doors,.. door frames,.. behind front and rear lights, you`d be amazed at how many areas you can get to on your own without drilling any holes,... mine has holes from the previous owner so I use them but I haven`t had it "Sprayed" since i bought it and it hasnt rusted any since I`ve owned it,... even the little surface rust spots underneath on the floor haven`t gotten worse since I`ve sprayed it. You know,.. the little spots along cut or fold lines. Just do it yourself.
