just got back from toronto.car ran perfect in all traffic for 600kms.i had it to 200kph/125mph with no issues at all.i am calling it a success.track testing is on the 14-15 of may at grandbend.

Congrats dude.Make sure to keep an update on the track testing!
|
That does look awesome. I wouldn't even know where to begin making one myself.

well you definately need to know a bit about motors and their needs and a bit about fabrication. weding, cutting, measuring and general tool skills are a must.precision is imperative for the fitting part of the build.there is only a couple thou tolerance on the runner fit.there are only three bolts holding the main body of the intake ,runners and baseplate together.24 screws hold the lid on and 4 screws hold the tb mount on and 4 screws hold the tb on.twwo screws hold the egr on and 2 screws hold the coilpack on.before anything could be built the factory intake was put on a flowbench and mapped.then a better design was developed(hopefully).it takes time ,patience and money.LOTS OF EACH!

well the first track day is coming up on the 14th.i hope the weather holds for it.going to misener performance on sat.to dyno the car and see what's what. i got a new race tune from american muscle this week so it should be good.after i get some track and dyno time the vortech goes on,THEN HANG THE FECK ON CHARLIE!! IT'S GO TIME!
|
Good luck this weekend!Hope she performs well!! :tup
|
couldn't get the car to hook.spun real bad first two gears .best run was a 14.7xx at 96.xx
mph.60 foot was a lousy 2.3x.i ususally get high 1.90's or 2.0. |
Time for some tires to aid you!!But that's still not to shabby!:tup
|
yea i know i need tires but then the rear will go as it's only a 7.5".they wouldn't glue the track so nobody could get traction.on more than one occasion on friday i heard track staff say to someone after a bad run or screwup"don't worry about it that's why it's called test and tune night".who are they trying to kid.if they glued the track we wouldn't have a traction issue causing us to screw up.how can you test and tune with a car that is not consistent because of a bad track surface? they have no problem taking the money but don't want to spend a little of it to prep the surface.total bs.
