Cd jammed in 6-cd player, 2010 GT

So, with the Sat-radio & Bluetooth Audio, the cd player hasn't had much use but when I went to eject the one remaining cd, the screen reads 'cd error' and nothing more helpful than that. The cd won't eject, it won't shift to another slot and it won't allow loading of another cd. I figure it must be a very tight space behind the console face & either it slipped out alignment somehow or perhaps warped in the heat, but nothing's happening. And with that little slot door, you can't even see inside! So before I go to Ford and hand over what is likely to be a few hundred for labour, does anyone know how I can either remove the face of the console or crawl in from around the heat ducts so I can make a decent effort to try to dislodge this cd?

Not sure if this will work with your year model, but with the MACH 460 6 cd in dash in the '01 to '04, all we had to do is push another cd partially into the slot right after hitting the eject button, and the cd would come out. Worth a shot.

Usually if they get stuck the player is toast and needs repair. Are you over 3 yrs 60,000km?

Yes, it's a little over 3yrs and just hit 60K

This is why I did not bother to order the Shaker System when I pre-ordered my 2005 in September 2004. There were many complaints on various boards at the time over the Ford 6 CD Player. I did not want to see the Mustang continually in the shop for this problem. I have the standard AM/FM single CD player, a pain to change single CD's while driving but no ejection hassles.

I think you're hooped being a 6 disk. If it was a single disc, from my experience anyway, you could use a paperclip or something to fish it out.
