Averaged close to 30mpg and that was doing 80mph the whole way. We have a condo there so the Stang will live there now as I have no plans to bring it back.

Sounds like an awesome drive. My parents have a condo near Phoenix and I've been wanting to make the drive but haven't had a chance yet. So if you leave the stang there are you gonna buy another for here?

I definitely recommend doing it if you can but my only piece of advice would be to do it in October or early November like I did. I've heard horror stories from people who have gone through some of the mountain passes in Montana, Utah and Arizona about snow storms and terrible driving conditions.

As for buying another Stang for here. I've thought about it. Maybe if a good deal comes along but it won't be any time soon probably. I'd like something a little more rare along the lines of a Saleen or a Roush.

or stay out of the desert in and around June-Aug i.e. 120F

That would probably be the timeframe I would look at anyway or sometime in the spring. Good call on a Saleen or Roush.

I don't mind the Roush, but still like the styling better from Saleen.

For a tuner Mustang, that is a very clean looking design. Kudos to Saleen for not going overboard.
