2012 Boss 302 Question

4 Attachment(s)
OK, well of course it's that time of year for me.....time to start weighing out my options, and I've noticed the odd '12 Boss 302 at a few of the Ford dealerships between Edmonton and Regina, and a lot of them have less than 500 kms. So of all the ones I've looked at I noticed a couple of differences, but the one that nobody seems to have an answer to, is why the different Recaro seats? I asked at a dealership that had two identical cars, but nobody there had a clue why the difference. One had "BOSS 302 embrodered, but the other had "FORD Rcing". Here's the pics, if anyone can answer this please let me know, cause for some reason it's really buggin me. :banghead:

If I had to guess I would say that the car with the Ford Racing seats didn't come with Recaro from factory so they installed the Ford Racing ones. The Recaro's and Torsen rear end are optional on Boss 302. If I can make a suggestion if you are looking to trade look at a 2013 as you get a bunch of extra stuff with it. Personally I think that if you aren't racing it you are better off with a GT as you get some nice features that aren't available on the Boss.

OK, I am a little confused, this one with the Ford Racing seats has 400 km's, and the dealership is telling me that it is a Ford Executive car, or something like that. Does that make sense, and would they switch out seats in it, if it was?
And yes I'm looking at trading mine for this one, and would honestly love the '13 Boss 302, but to be honest I can't afford the extra $12,000-$13,000. I know I will be giving up some comfort features that my car has, and this wont have, but I love the idea of having a "Special" limited edition car like the Boss 302. I don't know maybe I'm just crazy? :?

X's 2!!!:tup

Is it because it has the BOSS name tag is why you want it? If that is the only reason, i would just keep what you got, and finish paying it off this way it's debt free. Then when the new models come out..... cause you know they always get better, and come out with special editions that we all want..... you will have no debt carried over, and all of the money your current GT is worth on trade is is fully going to the next stang.
Getting to know how some of you are over the years, i could see you doing this exact same thing down the road with the Boss 302 once you see or decide you like the next model, or special edition. It's to easy today cause financing has made it easy for us!

In my opinion a "Ford Executive" car would have more mileage on it. Dealers often tell people that used vehicles were exec driven when in reality they were previous rentals. A Boss never would have been a rental so I'm not sure what the story is. As far as the seats you can ask for a factory window sticker and it will show you what options the car has. The special edition is nice but if you don't keep it long term it doesn't really pay off. I would love to have a Boss but after having Sync, Shaker stereo, leather I would have a tough time going without. Plus I also find I have a need to mod and I hate doing that to a car like a Boss.

I think you have too much money!!!

Got a 13 GT track pack - almost Boss - shy 24 HP but has Nav, glass roof and most of the possible bells and whistles for 12 G's less. It is a joy to drive and since I don't race serves as a great road trip car and all round fun vehicle.

Getting the Boss exhaust system on it (hopefully in the next week). Saving 12 G allows for some play money - sticking with Ford products and Ford installs to keep warranty

I would love to have the Boss engine shoe horned in (like the idea of a built engine) but learning to be content.
